The quest to make EDB Postgres an AI company isn't working. The platform doesn't work and 0 customers use it, and the positioning is severely overcomplicated and fabricated. In the process, exorbitant amounts of time, money, and energy are wasted and employees are left frustrated and burnt out. The product team knows it, the sales team knows it—it's not fun. Employees have been promised equity, but the company is so far away from being good and getting bought. The continual leadership changes, team cuts, repositions and rebrands, launches, and strategy shifts have not moved EDB forward; they've lost strong talent and heart in the process.
What's more, the current leadership team poses as empathetic and supportive, but they're actually ruthless, ego-driven, and ultimately unable to create sustainable success. Specifically, the marketing org picks favorites and is cliquey, and has a delusional sense of self and the prospect of "sovereign data" catching on. The leadership style blatantly wastes the team's time, constantly changing direction and backtracking. It's rude. Within that org, comms is being groomed to follow suit and lead without any real compassion; it's all faked. The inflated egos and the notion that EDB comms are life and death are frankly laughable. The marketing team has icky energy, unfortunately. Leadership is skilled at remaining poised, but you cannot trust them. For example, they'll play their cards so it does not appear that you're being pushed out, but you clearly have been. They should be sued (and have been), but that's just one more thing not worth the energy.
