Pros

Flexible with hours, met some really great people and gained some helpful experience that I hope to use going forward. The ability to relocate to some of their 40 + locations throughout the US and Canada.

Cons

The Corporate location is very low in morale in part due to nepotism. The individuals in "power" i.e. the vice president, the head of Human Resources and the owner of the company all have familiar connections. When there is a family business it is understandable to keep it all in the family but the problem is, the individuals that occupy the current positions are not necessarily qualified for their respected positions. If you are an analyst or in admin or in any part of the "support" staff you could very well find yourself frustrated, overwhelmed and unappreciated. The reason for this is, which is where I find myself, the company really has no "heart" for us little guys, which is unfortunate because we are the majority but the company is mainly concerned with the "bottom-line." This is when being part of the support staff could be a detriment because we are looked at as only a number. The company works on a recycling system if you will. The company will recycle out employees whose hourly wage is high in favor of bringing in younger unseasoned employees and paying them less. It is impossible to advance and grow with the company as a whole because their recycling system appears to be working in their favor. They will also cut hours or lay off during the slow months which are typically December to March. It is most definitely a thankless job but one that pays the bills. I am in the process of looking because at the corporate office the fear of possibly losing your job is present on daily basis. It is truly very unfortunate and sad.

Pros

Great bosses, structured support from corporate office, workload is manageable compared to other labs I’ve worked for, overall culture is good

Cons

Benefits and pay aren’t great, particularly the benefits, they’re a little pricey and outside of preventative care, don’t cover enough imho, 401k is very low to where it’s almost nonexistent

Pros

- Job is straightforward - Management is pretty lax

Cons

- Lacks managerial oversight - Very little PTO - Unsafe - If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree, you will probably not be advancing very far at this company. Management will lead you on, but will always give preferential treatment (bonuses, analyst positions, etc.) to people with more schooling.
