I love this job, but not management - Administrative Assistant EMSL Analytical Employee Review

Pros

Flexible schedule. I've stayed busy most days and that makes time fly.

Cons

Average compensation, long days, tons of work or none at all, management fails to do much managing, outrageously expensive healthcare coverage (it's out of the question for us because it would be $500 per pay period for myself and my 2 children), no 401k matching, the chain of command in management is confusing (I have 3 supervisors and no clue who to approach under which circumstance), and way too much pressure.

Pros

Great bosses, structured support from corporate office, workload is manageable compared to other labs I’ve worked for, overall culture is good

Cons

Benefits and pay aren’t great, particularly the benefits, they’re a little pricey and outside of preventative care, don’t cover enough imho, 401k is very low to where it’s almost nonexistent

Pros

- Job is straightforward - Management is pretty lax

Cons

- Lacks managerial oversight - Very little PTO - Unsafe - If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree, you will probably not be advancing very far at this company. Management will lead you on, but will always give preferential treatment (bonuses, analyst positions, etc.) to people with more schooling.
