Pros
Interesting scientific software e.g. solid mechanics, electromagnetism, acoustics, fluid dynamics, data analytics.
Cons
Each employee is seen as an expense, not an asset. Annual salary growth is very low, if any, due to top management priority put on cost reduction. Bonuses are always paid in August the year after, and are never paid in full even when 100 % objectives are achieved. The company has too many middle level managers who are technically incompetent (many never wrote a single line of code in their life) or have no courage to make changes or do nothing all day but push useless Excel/PowerPoint documents around. The overall ratio managers/non-managers is around 1.0 and it feels like 2.0 whenever a simple decision needs to be made.
