Pros
Decent benefits, ok pay. Overtime but it’s mandatory half the time. They hire felons so anyone can work here. Ok yearly bonus.
Cons
Get ready to be working lots of mandatory Saturdays. I never had a solid answer for how the bonus system works so I never knew exactly what my pay was. Depending on what department you’re in is how much you’re getting paid hourly. Can take years to get on first shift, you’ll definitely be working off shift for a while. There’s no cost of living raises and when we do get one they usually raise the price of insurance. Attendance policy is strict. No doctors notes are excepted, they force you to use your vacation days and penalize you if you use too many unscheduled. Management uses the good old boy system and shows favoritism. If they think you’re causing problems for one of their favorites they will look for a reason to punish you and not them. Race and gender will play a factor in their decision. Work environment can be toxic. Not to say you won’t have a cool leader or foreman. HR and management are all buddys and unless they like you don’t bother trying to resolve issues. If you want to work here just keep your head down and do your job while you look for better opportunities.
