Pros
Solid company based on a good reputation for innovation, global reach. The company financial outlook looks stable. Fairly good benefits. Vacation time is often based on lifetime experience--not just years with Eastman. Eastern Tennessee is nice.
Cons
Despite what the company says or how it talks about itself in the media, there seems to be a shift from innovation to mergers and acquisitions. Upper management is increasingly from a business background than engineering, which creates a disconnect--perhaps why it feels like such a class system of elites vs. working people. It's a schism that seems to be growing. Employees are asked to tighten our belts but there doesn't seem to be any lack of perks for execs. Another con is that Kingsport smells from all the industry. But you can live a short way away and be ok.
