Pros

Patient population and great training to work with eating disorders

Cons

Workload and poor management—management does not care about its employees and will overwork therapists and floor staff (BHCs) when census is low. They rarely, if ever, step in to assist with low staffing. I’m

I am sorry to learn of your experience at ERC. Leadership is working hard to be responsive to compassion fatigue and feeling overworked. As a response to the results from our recent employee engagement survey, we have changed our PTO policy to ensure employees are taking appropriate time of for proper work/life balance. As with new policies, there is always an adjustment period. Your suggestions to staffing solutions are always helpful.

Pros

ERC Pathlight has a meaningful mission, and many employees genuinely care about the work being done for patients and families. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to healthcare marketing initiatives and gained valuable experience during my time there. I also worked with several talented and dedicated colleagues.

Cons

My primary reason for leaving ERC Pathlight was leadership and team culture. The biggest challenge was not the work itself, but the management environment. I experienced a leadership style that felt toxic, overly critical, inconsistent, and lacking in support. Communication often felt more focused on pointing out mistakes than providing coaching, clarity, or opportunities for improvement. Favoritism was also a rampant issue within the company. Employees were frequently expected to navigate unclear processes and shifting priorities with limited guidance. Asking questions or requesting clarification could feel discouraged rather than supported, which made it difficult to feel psychologically safe. Concerns about leadership behavior did not feel like they were addressed in a meaningful way. Growth opportunities were also a concern. During the interview process, I was given the impression that there would be opportunities for development, but after joining the organization I was told there were limited growth opportunities within my role. **Advice to Future Employees:** Ask detailed questions about your specific manager, team culture, growth opportunities, how feedback is handled, and how processes are documented and shared before accepting a role. The mission is meaningful, but your day-to-day experience will depend heavily on your leadership team and management style.
