Pros
It was steady work when I needed a job, but the overall rate of compensation compared to the expectations/requirements/work environment made it hell while I was there.
Cons
It's not what you know but who you know. 24x7 operations coverage is not conducive to a real family life. Getting a holiday off took an act of God, unless you "knew" somebody or were the bosses buddy. Manager's all seemed to be in their position because of an angel on their side. Often wondered if it was because of some hidden dirt on the next level because most managers were not the best or brightest, but still managed to be untouchable some how. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to pursue, unless you can get a good gauge of the culture prior to hiring on. They seemed to hide that part during the interview process. Granted it is a tough business to be in but it was made worse by the lack of equality, low pay, and horrible health benefits. Always messaged as being the best they could do with the budget, but the profits at the top never seemed to impact/improve the working types.
