Pros
The 401k management is great. The health insurance is pretty good and under $300 for the whole family.
Cons
With over 18 years with this company as a Vessel Master. Let me start by saying that in the beginning ECO was a wonderful company. In today's ECO you will be told on a daily basis that you are replaceable at any time. If Chouest wants you gone, they will find a reason to fire you. The struggle for power in the upper management is unreal. Any employee that accidentally gets in between, conflicting upper management, will be fire. They are also targeting there loyal, veteran, employees that have families, for insurance reasons. Their policies are are made up so that at any time, they can and will be used to fire you. Please go to their web sight and look at the policies before you join the company. In the last few years more control of the Company has gone to the younger Chouest leadership. In the new Chouest every move and every word spoken is watched and review by a large surveillance room. Bottom line, the employees are not treated well at all.
