Pros

• The People (manager level or below)- collaborative, friendly, care about each other (for the most part). • The Culture Manager puts together nice swags to send to employees • Unlimited PTO

Cons

What the Aug 2 review says about the company is completely true. To add to that review… A TON of miscommunications/failed communications. There’s a lot of miscommunications/failed communications that cause confusion and chaos because the CFO does not communicate consistent information to her team members, which then leads to wasted work time and effort. Employee morale is neglected: From my experience, empowered employees tend to be more invested in their work responsibilities. Unfortunately, the CFO has a tendency to do and say things that make her team feel disempowered and unmotivated. Employees’ personal time is not respected. If you like working on weekends and overtime on weekdays for consecutive months with no appreciation, you’ll fit in perfectly in the CFO’s org! I know working in a startup company requires a lot of hard work and sometimes long hours, but only sometimes, not consecutive weekends and 10-12-hr workdays on weekdays for months! Egnyte executives do not seem to care about employees’ personal time outside of work. They don’t seem to want us to have lives outside of work. Keep this up and you will lose more and more high-quality employees. Good leaders are also great team players, meaning that they roll up their sleeves and “get in the weeds (of work)”, regardless of their titles, when their employees/team are over-loaded with work. At Egnyte, upper management only barks orders and has no care in the world about over-loading their employees, no care about employees’ personal time and job satisfaction. Humble, Down-to-earth, Inspiring Leaders- NOT! Personally, I am inspired by humble, down-to-earth leaders. Unfortunately I am not inspired by some of the leaders in this company. The CFO does not take accountability and has a tendency to play the blame game, even if she’s actually the one who created chaos or miscommunications. In my years of experience working with leaders, good leaders take accountability, rather than passing the blame to other people, especially their own team. A Sense of Distrust & Too Much Control: The CFO has a line of questioning with a tendency of coming off as accusatory and condescending. It is not motivating, inspiring or supportive. Rather, it makes employees feel distrusted. Most people in her organization seem too scared to push back or deliver bad news to her because of all the points that I have mentioned above. Overall, the culture of this company from what I’ve seen is that employees are treated as robots and numbers. You want employees to respect you? Then you need to respect us.

Pros

Great benefits and great people to work with. The product itself is a great and superior product.

Cons

No training. No pipeline. No real support for SMB. You are basically a glorified SDR. Any real leads come from events or if you have good install base accounts. Hardly any good inbounds come and and if you do get a good and decent size inbound, they take it away from you to give to a mid-market rep. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. If you don't mind constantly grinding, go for it. Otherwise, I would recommend looking else where.
