Pros

Great team of co-workers. Wonderful benefits and year-end bonus. Great perks from HR (summer company picnic, small holiday gift hand-outs).

Cons

The caseload is extremely high for this type of work (55 clients). There is little support in your position after training. The environment is anxiety-driven, because Health Home Specialists work in a call-center-type environment. It is often hard to concentrate or hear clients on the phone. You work in close proximity to the other social workers, which is a positive if you get along with your co-workers/have a question, but most everyone is overworked and stressed out. Rumors fly around the office due to the poor office set-up and limited upward communication.

We are glad that you thought our benefits package and employee perks were wonderful! We pride ourselves on offering a very rich and competitive benefits package as well as the little extras that make work more enjoyable. Our employees are our biggest asset and we want them to be happy! Being a Health Home Specialist is a tough job, but also one that is very rewarding. Time management and excellent organizational skills are crucial to being successful in this job in order to manage the caseload. We are aware that similar organizations have varying case load requirements, and while some are moderately lower others are significantly higher. The acuity and type of cases one manages are important factors to consider. While the work can be challenging, at the end of the day, we are all living the Mission of this organization and knowing that we helped those with the greatest needs. Support is always available whether it be from your coworkers, a team lead or a supervisor. Supervisors meet 1:1 with their staff on a biweekly basis and case reviews are held on a weekly basis to review the most difficult cases and to seek advice on how to best manage. If additional support is required, all one needs to do is ask and it will be provided. Our goal is for our staff to be successful, regardless of their role within the organization. However, we do rely on the employee to tell us what support is needed. We are sorry that your experience wasn’t entirely favorable. We do thank you for your service and wish you the best in finding employment that is more conducive to your needs.

Pros

Coworkers were nice, benefits were decent

Cons

Management is toxic and will pressure you to do things you aren’t paid for/shame and gaslight you if you try to ask questions or stand up for yourself. They are sneaky and keep secrets too. Blatant lies happen and no one seems to care.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this was your experience. We take concerns about workplace culture, communication, respect, and transparency seriously. Our teams work hard to maintain a supportive and collaborative culture, and we recognize there’s always room to grow. That said, we also believe in mutual accountability and respectful dialogue, especially when navigating challenges or differing viewpoints. Our goal is to foster a respectful, transparent, trustful, and supportive environment for all employees where they feel safe speaking up. If there are areas where we’ve fallen short, we want to acknowledge that and do the work to improve. We continuously work with our leadership team to strengthen core leadership qualities and to improve communication. We remain committed to fostering a workplace grounded in integrity, trust, and professional growth, and we appreciate every opportunity to reflect and strengthen that commitment. We want to with you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
