Pros
Company has pretty good benefits, generous PTO, employee programs and employee gym. Business casual environment with a 'jeans' casual Friday still in existence, all it needs is to swap out the current senior management and hire true executives.
Cons
The negative experience depends on which department you work for. Some departments have great leaders, therefore you have happy employees. The HR department is filled with negativity and truly discourages outstanding performances. The HR department is run by heavy favoritism, rule by fear and no individuality. If you dare to speak up, better yet get a chance to speak if at all, you get knock down, stare down, mock down basically beaten down by senior leaders. How can there be growth if everyone acts like frighten children? If you're lucky, you go under the radar and move on with your life eventually you become the 'dead weight' or you can become the favorite of the moment, get the promotion and pretend to know what you're doing (trust me, no one would criticize your lack of experience, educational or fundamental knowledge for the job just as long as you're the favorite). The HR department preaches about developing their leaders, open door policy and all the good fluff you would like to hear, however the culture does not practice. Review the values on the website, do the complete opposite, you get EmblemHealth. This company is good for anyone who wishes to perform a mediocre job and stay for retirement. If you're seeking growth, challenge, and learning then this is not the right organization for you. I would never recommend anyone I know to work for this company.
