Pros

-Benefits were decent -Flexible remote work

Cons

-Poor communication between departments -I was under compensated for the work I provided at emerald, in fact my salary was well below the poverty line. - We never received inflation raises so technically at the time I was laid off, I was making less than I was when I initially started working with my team pre-acquisition. - Onboarding process took months after my team was acquired by emerald. - Executive team seemed really disorganized - Poor planning- some people seemed overworked while others didn’t have much to do - Felt I had no upward growth within my role at the company - Felt I had no real representation when it came to bringing up issues within the company and the HR team seemed very unapproachable I felt couldn’t bring any of issues up with them. The one time I did, I was unceremoniously shot down. - Frankly, the current employees should unionize.

Pros

-Depending on what team you're on, you get a lot of autonomy. (on the flip side, see con- if you're on the wrong team) -Good benefits -Fun events & Travel opportunities

Cons

-People getting laid off left and right all time. One minute you have a team mate and the next they are just gone. -Management is top heavy and operates like a fraternity -If you're on the wrong team every move is watched -Your job is NEVER safe -Imagine with the acquisition that was just announced by Apollo that the reason for layoffs was to become lean before transition. I would hedge bets that this will also continue to be a numbers game and positions are going to be uncertain -Sales plans are always ambiguous and there were even times where the plan wasn't out until several months into the year. Expected to sell over and above but didn't always have a sales plan to follow. It was always changing.
