Pros
- All employees care about the same thing - patients and their wellbeing - Everyone, including management, want better processes for everyone - Very good benefits, IMO. Healthcare is good price for Emory Healthcare (arguably best in the country). First year in the company, and I had 3+ weeks paid vacation. - Smart, educated, dedicated workforce. - You will get the tools/programs you need if you convince the right people.
Cons
- Making improvements is slow. Emory Healthcare is huge, it's like moving an elephant. - The more letters behind your name, the easier it is to move up. Skills (without the degree) are not as "revered". Frustrating in that sense. - Committees, committees, committees. Problem solving with clinicians at Emory usually involves creating a committee, and then having clinicians in that committee argue forever over something small. - Customer service for patients and their employees needs work. But, they're working on it. - Currently, no telework policy. When Covid-19 hit, you were required to work on a personal machine with personal devices.
