Pros
The name holds weight…..that’s it
Cons
Horrible place to work. They don’t value non-nursing departments at all. If you’re not a nurse or doctor you will be severely overworked and underpaid. You can’t live decently even with a degree because their minimum wage is $15 hourly. They will lowball your pay any chance they get. People only want to work here because of the name. With their low pay , you’re still below the poverty level and there’s so many politics. Sad thing, even the nurses hate it here. They don’t value our security officers enough either. I witnessed them without masks at the beginning of the pandemic when they were the most exposed. When I asked a security officer why they weren’t wearing face masks the officer said “their managers said they don’t want to create fear in the visitors”. A week later one of the officers caught COVID 19 and had to be hospitalized. Emory healthcare isn’t a place I would recommend to anyone. They’re only #1 in the state of Ga because they’re buying everything. It’s a business that doesn’t take your mental health seriously. I knew nurses who were sick in the hospital and were called by management asking when they were coming back to work.
