Pros
Congenial atmosphere and pretty campus. Not a cutthroat culture and generally there is a good work/life balance. Good retirement and other benefits.
Cons
Huge bureaucracy. Change not always managed well. Salaries not great. More than a few staff and faculty have a sense of entitlement regarding their employment status.
