Pros

This job is good for people who are looking for PRN or part-time positions. If you are PRN you only work as needed.

Cons

If you are a lower level worker such as a staff nurse, tech, etc you will definitely be under paid and over worked no doubt about it. Management is well aware of how they are treating their staff but do you think they care? If you think they do you better think again? The professionalism at the HealthSouth I worked at in Huntsville, AL was almost the worst I've ever seen. The managers and supervisors talked to other staff about you and other co-workers. The managers build rivalry between co-workers. The Nurse/patient ratio and nurse tech ratio is extremely high compared to the acuity of the patients. Nurses you definitely put your license on the line at this facility so be very careful.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.

There is fulfillment from helping patients regain independence after injury or illness. Encompass Health promotes diversity and inclusion. There is a good work life balance. Wide range of benefits. An overall positive work environment!

Cons

Encompass could recognize more holidays for employees as well compensate salaries to match cost-of-living for the area better.
