Pros

Healthsouth supportive of career advancement. Good benefits, very good salary- shift bonus,plus time a half for overtime, you get paid on what you worked for. Vacation approved mostly and allows for self scheduling to meet your schedule needs..works out with your schedule esp if you are in school. Great benefits so far matching 401k. 8hrs of PTO per paycheck

Cons

High turnover on staffing..short staff, some managers are micromanaging (high turnover due to poor management performance). Poor support from administration..always metrics-driven despite having no adequate staff to make metrics realistic. Patient surveys (family member instead of patient filling up survey) are biased and affect department score. Policies constantly change before staff are able to adjust to the previous policy.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.

There is fulfillment from helping patients regain independence after injury or illness. Encompass Health promotes diversity and inclusion. There is a good work life balance. Wide range of benefits. An overall positive work environment!

Cons

Encompass could recognize more holidays for employees as well compensate salaries to match cost-of-living for the area better.
