Pros

Good concept; rehab for those transitioning from acute care to home or other arrangements. Get to know the patients since average stay is almost two weeks. Doctors have been great to work with and listen to needs of nurses and patients.

Cons

Even though a promise was made to hire adequate staff such as nurses and techs, that promise has not been kept. Staff come and go which is a problem. Always working short which causes stress with patients and families. Work can't get completed on time and patient care is suffereing. HealthSouth is also bad about making promises about pay raises that never come through. For two years now, we were promised raises in Oct/Nov that never came.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.
