Pros

Good starting for a nurse to have. Definitely use your skills from IV management, discharge planning, taking care of patients, teching (yes a nurse will tech at times as her assigment), showering patients, learn more about therapy.

Cons

Can get anywhere from 6-11 patients at a time to manage. Scheduling, there is no consistency and there is room for technological evaluation but the scheduler doesn't use it, paper based. 12 plus hour shifts and no room for growth in the company.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.
