Pros

Salaried position, decent benefits, and bonuses if you meet insane budget requirements set at 95% occupancy every day.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement no matter level of experience, no clear answers, insane budget requirements, ridiculous face to face encounters with physicians are required when MDs today do not have time or want to speak to sales reps without samples, marketing is strategy is somewhere 1950s vacuum cleaner salesman and little league baseball, they refuse replace national commercials to educate their democratic of patients, must have 12 hours per month of one on one supervision and 2 phone calls every day to explain your day, this is not just marketing you must write dissertations on each referral which takes 2 to 4 hours each depending if on line or hard fax referral, no reward for work performed other than salary, never perform good enough, no ceiling to expectations. Least trusted position in the organization way below the CNAs and janitorial staff.

Pros

Great team to work, people are always willing to help each other. The clinicians genuinely care about their patients and it shows every day. You feel like you’re making a difference in patients’ lives. Good teamwork between departments. Leadership listens to feedback and wants the hospital to keep improving. Positive work environment with coworkers who care about doing a good job.

Cons

Healthcare is busy, so some days can be stressful. Things can change quickly, so you have to be flexible. Communication between departments can always improve. Like most hospitals, staffing can be tight at times.
