Love the people I work with. And the CEO Ben Erwin seems like a nice guy, but he's paid a decent salary so of course he's happy!
Cons
I live in Seattle. Cost of living here is THROUGH THE ROOF. When I came to Encore, I knew the Commission was 1% on my sales, and potentially higher. But in reality, it's must lower. Encore calculates EBITDA every month (look it up) and if your Property's EBITDA falls below 100% (which you really cannot control in Sales, it's all Operations controlling costs) then your commission falls to .05%. Yes, instead of getting 1.0% commission, you'll get HALF that! It's sad and depressing. Every year the Company changes the Commission Plan and makes it WORSE. I am looking for a new job because I cannot survive on .05% commission and my already very low Base Salary. Encore starts sales employees at $55K! Yes, you read that right! Very low Base Salary. Their Recruiters sell you on the "potential" for making a lot of Commission but in reality, that's never going to happen. Not with this new EBITDA plan. I'm dreading 2026 and the new EBITDA/Commission plan because it will only get worse!
