Pros
The vast majority of employees are pleasures to work with, and you can learn a lot if you have the right manager. Benefits are pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary for a tech company. Work/life balance is good if you're not in a key role; flexible work hours depending on what team you're on and generous PTO. I would say it is perfectly fine for a starter job.
Cons
Unless you are a manager or in a technical role, or you live outside of the Bay Area or with your parents, you will not make enough money to support yourself in the Bay Area. If you do decide to take a job here, negotiate your starting salary to the highest possible number because there is very little chance you will see a merit raise that accounts for inflation or a promotion in your first 3-5 years there. You will likely complete tasks well beyond your job title for no additional pay for months or years, if you stay that long. The corporate structure actively prevents deserving employees from receiving fair raises and promotions. Raises and promotions are passed amongst the same group of employees without making room for new talent. There is no real, meaningful effort put in to address problematic aspects of the company culture. Diversity & Inclusion efforts are non-existent, and when they do pop up they are generally poorly executed and highlight how little management believes things actually need to change. Ask a random employee outside of HR what the last Diversity & Inclusion effort they remember is and I guarantee you they will say something from the Summer of 2020.
