Pros
Salary and benefits are above average for this line of work.
Cons
The call centre is a revolving door and those who stay are miserable and disgruntled. They want to move up but there's a lack of opportunity and internal mobility is severely restricted. Senior management are clueless and have no people skills. They only pay lip service to quality. A productive employee is one who brushes off customers within a 2.5 minute call, even if it means that customer will call back another 3 times within the same day. It's all about the stats even though the stats make no sense, not even management can explain some of the outrageous numbers. The stats also pit people against each other and encourage pettiness and rivalry instead of teamwork. There is no process for dealing with conflict, their solution is to either terminate or force resignation. There is also no training program for new employees. It's just endless shadowing, which means you basically have to teach yourself and struggle through.
