Pros

Great mission, wonderful people who are smart and creative. Flexible work from home is allowed for most people. Good salary and benefits for a nonprofit.

Cons

Top heavy leadership, no transparency, some favoritism for promotions. No clarity in how promotions and job titles work. Decisions are made that impact people and teams without any input or forewarning, such as changing department structure or adding new hires at a higher job title/level than expected, without giving current employees the opportunity to apply for the new and better position. Also, support teams not staffed enough to compensate for recent acquisitions -- need more people in IT, HR, Marketing & Communications, etc. Requests and needs stay in a long queue and you wait.

Pros

Great onsite team in portfolio. Was lucky to have an amazing regional.

Cons

Everything else. They would get a zero if possible. Communities are in bad neighborhoods where crime is very common. Had to deal with drug abusers and kicking out homeless people and even getting attacked on an occasion. Corporate does not care at all about the safety of their people, had to bring a taser to the office when walking the building, Compensation is also horrible for the work you’re required and putting in.
