Pros

The business opportunity for Equinix is extraordinary. If the company can clear a path for successful execution of its cloud strategy, it stands to become a powerhouse in the technology arena. The success of the company has served its employees well - compensation packages are very attractive and there have been few to no layoffs over a decade. Generally speaking the employees at Equinix are very nice people and many are extremely passionate about, and dedicated to, the company's success.

Cons

As the company goes through a period of significant growth, the cultural is drastically changing. Moving from what was a start-up feel - all for one, one for all - to big company attitudes and politics. At the leadership level there is so much in-fighting that they are not unified in their approach to the opportunity we are so blessed to have in front of us, instead they are battling for recognition and building empires. And, the company's success has them believing that they are so good at their jobs, that they are unwilling to take feedback from the rank and file that perhaps all is not well in the kingdom - they conveniently chalk it up to the pace of growth and rest on the belief that "everyone is replaceable" as a convenient excuse for why key employees are exiting the building.

Pros

Hybrid which is nice, for what the job entails pay is ok I suppose at 60k. Every Wednesday there's food for employees.

Cons

Earlier in the year the frisco office was closed down, so many employees including myself who add living arrangements now have to travel 3 days a week to the downtown office. Which is 45 minutes + with traffic. On top of that the shift times suck as someone who appreciates work life balance. 7 am to 7 pm. I would also say that there are many organizational changes and career growth seems limited.
