Pros

Great company to experience government contracting and staffing in the SB / 8(a) realm. If you are an absolute Superman at multi-tasking, excel in a very fast-paced and “dynamic” (i.e., chaotic and disorganized) environment with unreasonable expectations, are able to work with super tight deadlines, don’t mind burn-out, are ok with toxic managment, don't need benefits, and on top of it all don't have any expectations with regard to recognition, this is absolutely your place. Go for it. Good luck!

Cons

No planning, no strategy, no vision, complete and utter lack of coordination, organization, and direction. Government contracts are pursued using a shotgun approach, blindly going after hundreds of projects a month acros the entire spectrum of industries with no clear goal or focus. RFP/RFQ responses are blasted out en masse in the hope that something will stick. Employees are hired on under false pretenses, i.e., your job responsibilities are redefined at will at some point and you will find yourself with duties that you hadn’t signed up for. Don’t be fooled by their career page, there are NO employee benefits whatsoever - zero, nada, zilch. I was literally told after half a year that health insurance would only be available if I’d take a pay cut to make up for the difference! Forget about leave time, that does not accrue until after the probationary period - that is, if you make it that long. Communication is inconsistent, ineffective, and all over the place. Literally. Multiple channels and tools are used to convey pieces of information, making it extremely difficult to coordinate and collaborate in a concise and consistent manner. Information that is relevant and necessary for employees to do their jobs properly, is not freely shared and held closely under wraps by the owner and the contracting manager, leaving you scrambling, wasting time and effort, and setting you up for failure from the get-go. The core staff that have been there for a while, consistently display an unprofessional, rude, and condescending demeanor, lending itself to an extremely frustrating and toxic work environment. Unfortunately, this behavior is tolerated by the owner. Even more surprising is that the standoffish and belligerent attitude towards employees extends beyond the organization to partner companies, teammates, and even clients. Despite putting your best effort forward, forget about the idea that your hard work, contributions, and long hours are appreciated, recognized, or will even pay off at some point. They won’t. Kudos are expressed verbally only on occasion, with no impact on benefits or your paycheck. You’re pretty much told that if you don’t like it, you can always leave. They’ll hire the next guy/gal who’s desperate enough to jump onboard.

Pros

Great, enthusiastic people to work with.

Cons

• Ideas were routinely dismissed, making it pointless to speak up. • Priorities changed constantly, but updates rarely followed. • Simple tasks stalled because responses took days instead of minutes. • Open communication was discouraged, and most people stayed silent. • Hard work went unnoticed, while every mistake received immediate attention. • I would avoid this place if you value trust, respect, and clear communication.
