Pros
Unlimited PTO policy, free fruit & coffee, most employees were friendly and helpful when they were actually in the office.
Cons
Company I worked for was acquired by Everyday Health 2 years ago. First year, things looked good, seemed like company was really focused on reorganizing for the better, NY office communicated regularly, etc. But the 2nd year, everything fell apart. They stopped communicating, there was no understanding of the primary focus and direction the company was headed as it was constantly in flux and employee turn-over became a regular thing, red-flags started popping up more and more. Sure enough, the end of 2016, they announced they were being acquired by another company. First thing that company did was lay-off lots of folks, but in a way that made it clear they were not thinking about what was best for the company, just a bottom-line on a piece of paper. I feel for the employees that remain in the chaos. There is distrust and a lack of teamwork when coworkers are expected to work together as everyone has been given different priorities. Projects are started and never finished, so everything feels like a waste of time. It's a shame because they could be accomplishing great things.
