Good culture but issues with management and pay - Branch Manager Ewing Outdoor Supply Employee Review

Pros

Overall a good culture to work for.

Cons

No longer family ran. Executive Management are not promoted based on merit but who they know. Plenty of nepotism to pass around making it hard to promote. Pay is absolute lacking for industry standard and appreciation lacks any notable standard. Profit defiantly comes before people in this "family owned" business. IT infrastructure cannot keep up with their expansion and you are rarely provided with the tools needed to expand/grow markets.

Pros

- You have the ability to work hybrid in some departments - They do give raises - Bonuses once in a while - I had no problem with the people in the FSC. Many are very nice and care

Cons

- They do bonuses once in a while. We just hit $1 billion as a company for the first time and it wasn't much. I've heard this was their first bonus in years. - Benefits are meh. Not bad but not the best. They do offer a wellness program to help save, so that was nice - Each year I got a raise but it's not much. Definitely doesn't cover inflation rate or come close to it. - Very dry at the FSC. Once in a while they'll do something, like a quarterly meeting but that's it. They don't provide lunch/breakfast but they used to. - I was used to a big outing for employee recognition at my previous job, which was taking all of us around Christmas to a Go-Kart, Bar, Axe Throwing, Bowling, Arcade place in Scottsdale with raffles. It was soooo much fun but nothing here. No appreciation. My old company wasn't close to a billion so made it more meaningful in hindsight. Again just reached a billion dollars for the first time and they made cut backs, which sucks. Doesn't make sense
