Pros
- Relatively balanced work-life (if you are not on a project with a severe deadline) - Some decent coworkers (at a personal level) - Ok benefits
Cons
- HR policies. You report lateness to HR, not your supervisor. - 8.5 hours per day is required (as opposed to the standard 8 hours). - Kronos timecard system is mandatory for salaried employees. Failure to clock breaks results in an automatic 1.5 hour break recorded for the day. - Mandatory holiday party that, if missed, will result in forgoing all holiday pay for the year. - Chain of command must be followed such that the only visibility to your work is the person above you. - That in turn provides little opportunity for career advancement. - Especially if the organization you are in has nearly six levels of management. - That in turn also does not promote ideas or creativity. Just be a mindless drone and go home. - People with military backgrounds would most likely thrive in this environment.
