Pros

Mostly sound Management Systems Safety Culture Global Opportunities Driven and talented work force Stable Company, Strong Brand

Cons

A bad evaluation early in one's career follows one throughout and very difficult, if not impossible to shake. Performance Evaluation (a.k.a. rank system) is designed to be objective but ends up failing (not reflective of performance or potential) a majority of its results-driven employees. Rank System only as objective as the people evaluating. For those who make it to higher executive/technical ranks, work-life balance becomes just a theoretical concept and really don't have to latitude to truly make meaningful personnel decisions - basically do what you are told i.e. "work within the system" Profit always myopically placed above employee's well-being and job satisfaction. Company ends up loosing in the long run if this trend is not curtailed. A right answer is a balance between the two. Inflexible and risk-averse culture Pay can be uncompetitive at times but longer term balances out with competition

Pros

Good opportunities for networking and travel.

Cons

A significant HR issue between interns occurred during my internship and was handled very poorly. Once the matter came to HR’s and leadership’s attention, it was not officially resolved until months after the internship had ended. The VP privately apologized for the situation, but the overall response was inadequate and felt as though the situation was being swept under the rug. The lack of timely communication and follow-up created a very uncomfortable environment for a young intern and significantly impacted what was otherwise a positive internship experience.
