Business Outlook
Pros
Lots of opportunities to develop, high level of responsibility, generally good people to work with. Work/life balance is good as long as you don’t work at a manufacturing site.
Cons
All of the HR processes are horrible. I was actually assessed (ranked) fairly well but the raises were bad. I felt bad for my peers who weren’t ranked as well but did equal quality work (you need a certain personality to get ranked well… relating to management is key). Dallas (corporate) is too removed from the worker bees and unilaterally makes decisions. I guess with Exxon trying to cut headcount it makes sense that they didn’t really value their people. I left and am not getting paid 80k more. Everyone is burnt out and jaded at Exxon.
