Pros
The culture of happiness and teamwork that this company creates is unlike any other company I have worked for. I started as a key holder and worked my way up. Everyone from fellow General Managers to Upper management is incredibly supportive and always willing to help out. The optical field in general is a rewarding career for anyone who enjoys helping others. This company also has a great philanthropic program where we make glasses in store that get sent to countries and societies in need.
Cons
As with all customer service, it is easy to get burnt out. The optical industry in particular has a very steep learning curve and you have to put in the work to gain the knowledge necessary to be successful in this career. The biggest con that I feel exists in this company is the current training structure. The training program that currently exists involves reading a binder and taking tests. Learning optical would be easier if we had more videos and visual learning tools. Also our benefits package is a little expensive for just average benefits.
