Pros

Eyeglass World does provide a variety of supplemental insurances including health, dental, and does have 401K and stock matching benefits. It also has a variety of positions meaning you could either be in retail, lab, or patient-based settings.

Cons

Retail does involve heavy multitasking between customers and providing quality customer service, and can be demanding. This of course varies by location and how busy the store is. My store specifically is one of the busiest by revenue sales in the country, out of 132 stores total. With heavy volume against understaffing, this job can be unmanageable to some.

Pros

Co-Workers PTO Licensing opportunities for optician positions is probably the headliner The work is genuinely interesting

Cons

Corporate culture is entirely "CYA" with a side of saccharine group cheerleading while every single individual above the store level will privately admit that it's essentially rudderless because nobody wants to risk standing out. Low pay relative to the industry and intelligence needed to competently perform the job(s) w/yearly raises that are so low that it's more of an insult than not offering raises at all would be.
