Pros

I was fortunate enough to start working for fgf brands; a unique and fast-growing company specializing in baked goods. Three words that come to mind are speed, change and uncertainty. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer everyday is a new challenge. The ability to adapt quickly, yet effectively is definitely a key factor in having success within the company. What sets fgf brands apart is the fact that they focus on team development and leadership. I do believe that this is an essential component to any successful company and for that I'm grateful. Whether it be lunches or other social events the company continues to keep things interesting and fun. On the technical side, I have had the opportunity to train with some of the industry’s leading consultants and I continue to gain valuable knowledge through them. A definite motivator for myself is that most of what I have learned was never taught in a school setting. Throughout my career I hope to become an industry leader alongside the rest of the fgf team. I love the passion and dedication that all team members bring to the company. For that reason alone, I'm excited for what the future has to offer. fgf brands is an exciting place to learn and grow. Having just started my career, I can say with confidence that there is huge potential here on both a personal and professional level.

Cons

If you're willing to put your time in and learn, you will have no problem adapting to the fast-paced environment.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Flexible hybrid work.

Cons

Constant layoffs. I was laid off 7 months after starting, while on a business trip in a Kroger parking lot, with no explanation given. Layoff process was pathetic, no communication and had to threaten a lawyer to receive my severance payout. American politics are often discussed by Canadian upper management. Foul, unprofessional language is frequently used. Very unprofessional, unstable work environment. I would recommend looking anywhere else for employment.
