Pros

Acquiring Worldpay was a great strategic move. Large presence in the FinTech space. Good Pay. Are going through a transition and should come out better on the other side.

Cons

Short term focus on stock price pickup could be detrimental on long term. Company is looking to sell itself. The poor integration of Worldpay which will now lead to the company divesting Worldpay and taking a $20B write off. Top down (short term) decision making does not take into account (long term) down stream impacts. 3-4 rounds of cost cutting layoffs are now leading to skilled resources existing and the remaining people are waiting for next round of cuts.

Opportunities to work on high-impact projects and scalable infrastructure. Gained significant experience in complex system architecture and troubleshooting.

Cons

Abrupt end to a nine-year tenure without adequate transition or transparency. Heavy reliance on an aging, legacy tech stack that hinders innovation. Contradictory AI strategy: leadership mandates aggressive adoption while refusing to fund the necessary compute and tools for teams to actually implement it. Extreme short-term focus on EPS maximization at the direct expense of long-term stability and product health.
