Pros

Plenty of WFH options and tons of different teams to work in. Pay looked real nice about a year and a half ago. Supposedly lateral movement is very common, but I haven’t attempted yet. Bank holidays are available.

Cons

My department specifically is severely overworked & has been for over a year. There is no work life balance whatsoever. Upper management only seems to care about breaking profit records while simultaneously using layoff rounds and dispersing work from those layoffs to the retained employees. There are no plans to increase teams/ bring in more help despite asking for over 8+ months. There is no upper mobility or promotion opportunity like promised. Discussions regarding OT have been shot down at every turn. Annual pay increases are not keeping up with inflation nor do they barely scratch the surface. Originally told ‘occasional days where hours were needed past 5:30pm”. Has turned into a bare minimum norm of 10hrs of non stop work. No time for lunch some days.. days have approached 14.5-15hr days for 3-6 weeks straight. Found out most of my department’s employees are paid about ~10k LESS than the market rate for my industry. Oh, hiring process took 6 months from initial interview so expect a long onboarding process. Training is redundant and pointless. There’s discussion about moving remote positions back to the office again soon.

We appreciate you reviewing and sharing that FIS offers hybrid work opportunities, competitive pay and internal career mobility options. You mentioned pay raise in your con, so we wanted to share with you that FIS’ compensation philosophy strives to provide competitive pay around the world in the regions we operate – with an emphasis on rewarding performance, to help us attract, engage, and retain the best talent. As part of our pay for performance philosophy, we have a formal pay review process each year and annual merit increases are based on company performance. The increase a colleague may receive through this process considers several things – including evaluation of the colleague’s performance, their existing pay compared to the range for their role and the company’s budget for increases. As we continue to redefine what hybrid working means to FIS, we believe it’s time to reconnect, socialize and enjoy the camaraderie that truly makes our workplace special. That is why we are asking our colleagues to return to offices with a hybrid schedule in some locations globally. Since you have identified yourself as a current colleague, we encourage you to report any of your stated concerns through the internal channels available to all colleagues.

Pros

Most colleagues are well intentioned, but stretched beyond the max.

Cons

After filing for FMLA, my “leader” encouraged me not to involve HR in the future. The whole point of FMLA is job protection. Him making this suggestion, at best, seems highly unethical and potentially illegal. Some leaders are good with people. Others are more techno sound. The ones that can effectively do both are let go. It makes no sense and the company offers little transparency.
