Pros

Some truly great people work there! Overtime can be had if you are looking for it. Direct managers were always available. Opportunity to learn is there. If you do not like the position, you are in then you might be able to move to another position. Benefits are good, but no 401K matching. I’ve worked at other Heat Treaters and can say FPM is better than the others I’ve worked at...but that is a low bar to clear.

Cons

I am shocked that they have guys with 5-15-25+ years on employment there. The pay was underwhelming, you’d be better off going elsewhere for higher pay. Raises are also underwhelming, from what I encountered usually 2-3% is what you can expect. Environment has gotten better but it is still poor. There is a lot of carbon in the air…cannot be healthy. While management was accessible, they didn’t really seem to car that we have lives outside of work. I’ve seen them take advantage of employees that can’t say no. Management doesn't do a good job of enforcing all of its policies. People always seem to be doing whatever they want. Attendance policy is a joke, people come and go as they want...guess this could be pro if you are that type of employee. Handloading on the belts looks to be a horrible job…do yourself a favor and say no to that a belt operator position.
