Pros

The work can very intellectually stimulating and challenging. Some of the management team are great. For the most part, you work with really good, talented individuals.

Cons

Some people seem to slip through the cracks and we hire persons who do not belong in consulting. Salaries can be on the low side. Job demands often take over your life - weekends, late nights, urgent travel, ad-hoc needs seem to never stop and you are expected to answer them. Requires being tied to your phone/email. Formal training is lacking
