Pros
Merit based company allows you to grow at your own rate. Allowing potential large pay gains. - Speaking of pay gains. It doesn’t take long to grow. I have gained roughly $5 an hour within 2 years. Safety is very important and valued in the company. Employees are normally well versed in the trade and almost everyone is understanding when it comes to helping new people. Faith offers a VERY good apprenticeship program. This program pays YOU to take the classes. This is very beneficial to learning the trade and of course- not going into debt. They really do invest a lot of time into you. And care about your progress. As long as you are willing to work with them and aren’t afraid to take action as well. Apply yourself and it’s a good way to build leadership skills.
Cons
Hours worked are normally around 55-60 a week. After working with the company for a little over 2 years I have never worked under 40. This is very strenuous and honestly bugs me a lot. Not allowing for more time outside of work. This mainly bugs me because I know many people are working 40 hours, if not less a week, making a lot more a year (I’m mainly talking outside the industry here). Don’t get me wrong, overtime is nice. But there are still positions out there that make more with less hours. I like the saying- work to live- not live to work. Overworking also causes lower morale which can cause more problems. I think this could be fixed with more manpower on jobs. Reducing individual workloads (while still maintaining job costs) I understand Electrical is a large part of construction. But I do believe that it can be more efficient taking some loads off the employees, which I understand is not always doable. I also want to add one of the bigger issues I see with this company. Which is the fact that a lot of it’s jobs are with very clients. Meaning they are HUGE buildings. Which means it has a lot if repetitive tasks. This means they send a lot of apprentices who may be stuck doing the same/ similar task for up to a year. This may not be an issue for someone with the trade knowledge. But for an apprentice who needs to learn the trade, this can set them back in knowledge compared to their peers.
