Pros
Fast paced workplace (a pro and con)... competent coworkers. Education reimbursement. Decent health and dental benefits. I definitely enjoyed the corporate culture of giving back that Farmers embraces, and I enjoyed knowing that my work in insurance benefited people when they needed it most (the insured, or members). That part was incredibly satisfying.
Cons
Fast paced workplace (a pro and con)... Not a lot of room for promotions, dissatisfaction with salary and growth possibilities created a negative energy and low morale. I left because I couldn't see myself making enough money within 5 years to justify my employment with the company any longer. Work is tracked and measured to a ridiculous extent. I am not a lazy worker, I strive to do my job well, but my boss micro-managed my time and made me extremely frustrated as a result. He was not available to bounce ideas off of, but he was available to make sure that it looked like I was working at all times. I was promoted twice in the 1.5 years that I worked there- so there is some room for growth, but not in the direction that I was interested in (marketing and business development). Promotions bottle neck after the Senior Service Advocate level.
