Pros

Flexible schedule for a college student, potential for task variety and some self directed work. Also a good way to learn about internal workings of a large variety of companies. If you are a business student you will be able to see the business concepts you study in action.

Cons

The company claims to be customer centered but it is completely profit centered. It also expects that its employees also be profit centered. Company is not particularly loyal, minor pat on the back for good sales rampant phone calls and threats if sales dip. Constant revolving door of full time employees that irritates customers and creates a death spiral of employees coming in, getting frustrated with an irritated customer, and walking back out. Also diminishing marginal returns on the amount of effort required to achieve dollars of commission. The amount of sales needed to equal a dollar per hour raise from another job is significant and also does not inspire loyalty in employees.

Pros

Great company culture, love the investment they put in for career advancement. Great people to work with, CEO is amazing but he's stepping down this month. Benefits are good. Decentralized organization so your ideas and solutions actually get listened to and implemented. Feel like I'm actually making a difference in the company.

Cons

Pay is lower than the industry average for most departments and they don't keep up with the cost of living, don't do bonuses (unless you're in sales) or pay raises. You have to ask to get one and most times they say no. Very male dominant at the branches and in sales, but many women in corporate leadership. Don't have any DEI initiatives. Not flexible on relocation for internal management roles, have to be at corporate HQ in Winona, MN.
