Pros

learn alot about sales and product knowledge - if you are willing to teach yourself. Great stepping stone to a real career.

Cons

too much to list. Do you have atleast a week to get started. Unfair pay, unreasonable hours, unreasonable management, paycheck deductions and low commissions. The company has grown beyond themselves. The employess have become a number now. Either a positive # or negative # depending on your position and your numbers. Every time they give you a number to work on improving and you suceed - they just find another number to complain about. They run liability insurance on their branch-based vehicles so that they save money, then they back-charge the branch for vehicle repairs when they are damaged. These charges come off the profitability of the branch and thereby affect the commissions of the branch employees while corporate continues to enjoy the profits. They force the branches to charge un-reasonable freight charges on every invoice to pad the profits. Then they complain thats the branches are not charging enough freight. The branch locations have to work their asses off to pay for the warehouses and corporate employees and are still treated like second-hand citizens.

Pros

Great company culture, love the investment they put in for career advancement. Great people to work with, CEO is amazing but he's stepping down this month. Benefits are good. Decentralized organization so your ideas and solutions actually get listened to and implemented. Feel like I'm actually making a difference in the company.

Cons

Pay is lower than the industry average for most departments and they don't keep up with the cost of living, don't do bonuses (unless you're in sales) or pay raises. You have to ask to get one and most times they say no. Very male dominant at the branches and in sales, but many women in corporate leadership. Don't have any DEI initiatives. Not flexible on relocation for internal management roles, have to be at corporate HQ in Winona, MN.
