Let me be really clear this is not run like a "FedEx" company. Buying Kinko's was the worst investment in the history of FedEx. The company has never in all its years of operation made a profit. Having said that heres a few things you should know: - The company is run like a dictatorship. The blanket excuse for treating managers like this, especially in Canada is that... since its losing money, every year, with declining transactions the management feels it's fair to create and environment where you either do everything they ask and deliver on the numbers otherwise they will find someone else to do it. This has not been very successful to say the least but has very successfully resulted in a pretty phenomenal turnover rate. A company that used to have a lot of people with over 6 years tenure now only has a handful - the company lacks infracture and equipment to get the job done. I am shocked at how a company that wants to establish its self as a printing house uses office copiers to do the job. Most locations as lack the experience required to run large print orders. - They are always short of people. I have seen an open manager position for upwards of 6 months. Offering too little or expecting too much!? I'd say a bit of both. - Print is dead! Atleast the printing that's done here is. - the technology they use is sub-par. Rental computers are a joke. They dont open Hotmail or Yahoo accounts (security issue). They use a version of Firefox and IE that's obsolete with absolutely horrifyingly slow speeds (unable to open Dropbox or Google drive at times). Customer don't like this obviously and the team is expected to listen to the customer vent, apologise and offer a discount on transaction. IT claims that it has other more pressing things that take priority over this service and the matter has been on hold for atleast 7 years. - if you're a yes man/woman this may be the place for you but people with really thick skin only need apply. Customers are right and you know they are right about the short falls of the product offering here but I'll tell you what. Its now your problem and the best answer you're getting from management is that if other managers out there can manage this so can you. Heck even I did it for a really long time, but I lost my faith in the organisation over time. - This is a part of a big American company in the US. 1800 stores. That's big, and big companies have departments managing different pieces of the business. Each departments thinks it's task is important and has tasks that it wants the field to execute on. But... There is just one manager with his team that has to execute on all these deliverables. This beast is like a headless chicken. No matter how organised you are you are always running from one deadline to another. All this happen together in one day. And they are wondering why they don't make any money. Rant over and out!

Pros

Good work life balance, hours are flexible, team members are pretty nice overall, benefits are good, company is stable and job security is good

Cons

Way too many things to remember, they say “you don't have to remember everything, just know where you can figure it out” and thats all fine and good but there are so many places to go and you have to know where, and despite what they say there are things you cant find anywhere and just have to know, so many systems are just confusing and have no real guidelines to follow, and thats not to mention that every manager has there own places where they do it either the fedex way or their own way, and you never know until you get called out for doing something. Pay is also pretty low and the only way to make more is take on management roles
