Salary is lower than the majority of competitors High turnover amongst hourly employees correlates directly to poor quality as well as a "hands off" approach by the quality department. Dependent on what department you're working for as a supervisor you could have up to 80 employees that you are ultimately accountable for. Other supervisors in various departments are only accountable for 10 employees. It's a demoralizing issue when you're held to the same standards as your peers and have 4X the head count and a larger area of responsibility. Possibly the worst "safety department" ever seen with serious issues swept under the rug
