Lost leadership with an extreme lack of awareness - Supply Chain Ferrara Candy Company Employee Review

Pros

The company has decent benefits and pays relatively competitively. There are many very smart people in all departments, and generally the environment is not bad.

Cons

Leadership that has no focus, refuses to hold themselves accountable, and has not had a winning strategy in 5 years. The CEO is fond of saying all the right things and throwing around all the correct buzzwords, but repeating the same mistakes over and over. A stunning lack of diversity, and seemingly no plans to change that. A large amount of bad management permeates the company, with no resources to change that.

Pros

Iconic brands Capable coworkers Cool office, and good location Real opportunities to build tangible experience

Cons

Very cut throat / unforgiving culture Poor work / life balance Poor IT systems Unrealistic deadlines, “Ferrara Fast” High employee turnover Most work is churn at the corporate level, does not feed into proper decisions / strategy execution at the executive level Short term performance management, worse than Private Equity companies. Week to week performance reviews of the business, leading to substandard results in market and serious risk of long term underperformance
