Pros

Paycheck and health benefits are great. Benefits are top of the line.

Cons

Look up the $1.5 million settlement lawsuit involving African American staff. Look up oag.ca.gov case settlement in which Consumer Advocacy Groups had to get involved to stop production and distribution of Sathers Assorted Sugar Wafers containing lead. Look up the $2.5 million settlement class action suit involving deceptive packaging aka slack fill. Look up the Cookcountyrecord.com article in which Promotion in Motion alleges a stolen recipe. OSHA fines for $485 million articles recently including failure to report a workplace accident including mutilation and hospitalization of employees in an unsafe working environment. Ordering employees to 'figure it out' to complete workload during a hiring freeze and complete lack of empathy for parents working with children with no available or viable childcare during increased coronavirus infection rates. Ordering employees to report to work in Chicago during a period of widespread and increasing infection rate during a time of pandemic and civil unrest including looting and warranting federal agent presence.

Pros

Iconic brands Capable coworkers Cool office, and good location Real opportunities to build tangible experience

Cons

Very cut throat / unforgiving culture Poor work / life balance Poor IT systems Unrealistic deadlines, “Ferrara Fast” High employee turnover Most work is churn at the corporate level, does not feed into proper decisions / strategy execution at the executive level Short term performance management, worse than Private Equity companies. Week to week performance reviews of the business, leading to substandard results in market and serious risk of long term underperformance
