Pros
I've been at Action Verb long enough to have more perspective than most, and I have to say it is an amazing place to work. The expectations are high--if you aren't great at what you do, look elsewhere--but the team is really talented and the culture is focused on doing things right. Security is _actually taken seriously_. I literally tell people I have the best job ever. My work is challenging and interesting. The hours are flexible and reasonable--no one is expected to be killing themselves. Compensation is good-to-generous. The company is profitable and growing, and the products and systems are generally well-designed and state-of-the-art. Our video meetings are interesting and effective, never a waste of time--the opposite of what you're probably used to. Quarterly in-person meetups are fun and upscale, and have taken me to several cities I'd never been to otherwise.
Cons
Fully-remote work is hard for some. Even with video meetings, its harder to get to know the people you work with. Coordinating projects across multiple people's timezones/schedules can also be challenging. I was around for the situations other reviews have mentioned. In every case they were not handled well by the CEO in my opinion, but changes have been made, and the language of those reviews definitely does not describe my experience of Action Verb.
