Pros
Pay and flexibility. Celebrations can be fun
Cons
Top heavy management. CEO is great but there are way too many chiefs after that. A lot social workers with master degrees who are disconnected from the population they serve. So caught up in the letters after their names and very disrespectful to colleagues. Service department enables poor behavior and do not make Youth Advocates (who are MIA most of the time NOT meeting with youth) accountable. They are so afraid of losing funding for a Youth that they stall and keep them in program so their numbers don't look bad. While we are on numbers....they ignore the data and instead change what is used to measure success. Data clearly showed Youth Advocates were ineffective which made getting Youth stabley employed or housed a constant challenge. Directors in services are always back stabbing and gunning for someone to blame instead of the Youth Advocate or their poor management. There is constant confusion and hostility. The agency is constantly trying to expand but it has not perfected what it should be doing.
