Pros

coworkers support while in the trenches working long hours and hours many times just thrown upon us last minute. Ah, wait, there is another one, being able to work remotely.

Cons

Upper management support and lack of knowledge of the population of foster youth they are servicing. "forced" to work with foster youth and take them in our vehicles without any other co-worker with us. some of the youth had criminal offenses, BUT they made us drive them around, again with no other co-worker in the vehicle with us, very unsafe, extremely. But they do not care truly if anything happens to their employees. They spend resources meant for the foster youth on their ventures and create a fictitious reason on where those funds are being allocated and why. They place foster youth in horrible housing, where many youth reported they felt unsafe, but FPY just kept them there and when those youth moved out or got kicked out of the program they continued to place other youth there and the cycle continued. How this organization is still standing, I have no idea. Unless this is just typical of non-profits?

Great people to work with - everyone is so friendly and kind Great mission - serving a population frequently overlooked Flexible schedule - hybrid work that only requires once a week in office Intentional Leadership - Execs really work to understand their staff & improve their workload Parenting-Friendly - Understanding managers who prioritize parenting and all the associated flexibility needs

Cons

Workload - understaffed in some departments, but a lot of thought going into improving this con Pay - it is non-profit pay so none of us are here gettin' rich :) the work is very fulfilling regardless
